Well IMHO the first thing you want to check out is how much its going to cost you in insurance, secondly the running costs, thirdly how much are you going to spend on her in the way of security, 4th and finally you need to find the car
There are pro's and cons to running a scooby, the biggest pro being its a great car to drive, the biggest con being its the biggest target for theiving toe rags
Also depends where you are in the UK and what you want to pay for the car????

Deadmetal - Tony's comments are spot-on. If you're in the market for one, take a look at www.park-lane.co.uk as they have a nice STI version VI Type R with about 6k miles on a 2001 Y-plate. It's up for 19,995 ... if I had the money I'd be interested myself!

Depending on your age, try Tesco for insurance. I am with them now, and they recently quoted me £1244 FC to insure a STi Type R Coupe (import).
I am 27, 5years NCD, 3pts speeding. - Not bad I thought.

Sexual gratitude, what are you on young man *lol*
Anyway - info for the advisors - he's also contemplated a TVR griff or an Elise so in term of security and theiving potential, they're all in the same ball park. He's looking at spending upto £18k on the car and has his insurance covered. I recommended the STI Type R as the cheapest way of getting a P1
Any info on the specific spec/trim of the model would be apprecaited (as it's on my shopping list too )
