Large piece of gravel that came up from under the wheels of a lorry hit the windscreen and gouged out a 3mm deep X 3mm wide chip into it, right in the line of sight too. Local chip chap says can't do anything, as do dealer - anybody got any reccomendations/ideas apart from a new windscreen...

I have a similar problem at the moment.

However, if I put it through my insurance it costs £50 xs and doesn't affect my NCD so I am going to do that.
