Default Registering a pre MY96 Import

Hi,

Interested in this importing business, seems you can pick up an Impreza very cheap! Kept my eye on a few, MY93 STI FOB £1150!!!!!

Don't want to import a post MY96 due to ESVA tests, etc... I know it has to be MOT'd and taxed, but what does it cost to get it registered??

Thanks,

Nick.

Default import

nick,
you need to be insured on the car!
for that price it will be ****e what grade is it?
good cars are hard to find now and are actually not that cheap,in fact you could buy one here cheaper.
have tried it nick and people dont want to pay decent money for good cars the only way to make money is on the ****e! and i would not sell somebody a poor grade motor, dont forget vat & duty, etc and any other cost ie service and repairs

27.5% value of vehicle will be taken by Government

Shipping will be £450-500

Insurance £50

Then its registering at £136 which includes 6 months tax.....BUT you need to have it mot'd and insured first!

Yeah 238,000 bought by somebody!!!

That's -

Car - 238,000 (£1150)
Shipping - 120,000 (£580)
Insurance - 10,000 (£50)

Not to sure if the FOB price includes their fees?

A 13 year old Impreza graded at 4.5 i think that's a tad unrealistic!!!! A 3 year old car maybe but a 1993.......i think you would have been disappointed TBH. It's not as easy importing cars as many people on this site would have you believe, it aint rocket science either but if it's just the one car you are after you'd do better looking around the dealers or private ads as this often works out quite a bit cheaper after the VAT, duty, tax, MOT, SVA if newer than 10 years and any possible faults
Dave.
