Should I, or should'nt I ?
I will be picking up my white classic in the next week (was supposed to collect it yesterday but hey)!
The question is should I put a carbon fibre bonnet on in place of the white alloy one?
Im not sure if a black bonnet on a white car looks any sense.
Any thoughts?

Ok, here's my own opinion, no doubt others will agree/disagree as they are entitled to do in our wonderful country, and I'll get flamed for my opinion but if I drove past your car and it was white with a black bonnet, I'd think it looked c**p...

Damn, Pete why did you go and post just a minute or two before me, some Snetters already suspect I'm you...
Just to disprove this, here's my car - we know you drive a Classic wagon and an MX5 (am I right), and not one like this...
OK, back on topic - opinions on black bonnets?

And they're the what I was thinking anyway.

If you were going to paint it then it might be ok; but its difficult to get a decent finish, even on a good quality bonnet. Good quality bonnets are very very rare btw.

If you want it for the 'bling' factor, then fill your boots; just be concious that if you venture near Cardiff you're almost certain to be hailed. If you want it because it's lighter then the ally bonnet, then you'll have to spend up to a grand to get the real deal which will be just a few ounces lighter. The pikey carbon shelled efforts are heavier then you already have.
