Prodrive PFF7s or Redline replicas
Can anyone till me what the difference is between the prodrive PFF7 and the redline replica apart from the price. As I’m looking to change the wheels on my MY99 and I like the PFF7’s. T&C in Aberdeen can get me the prodrive’s for £1450 with tyres or I can get the redline replica’s for £715 with tyres of the internet.

Pippy is right. The P(rodrive)F(low)F(ormed)7(spoke) is made using a process which injects the alloy into the mould under pressure which means less air is in the alloy. This makes the alloy stronger, and so you can use less to get the correct strength. Less alloy means less weight, much the same as OZ's Superleggera. The copies are physically the same being a direct cast (probably) from a PFF7, but are made using gravity fed alloy moulding. They are supposed to have been approved for road use and been tested to the usual regulations, but one has to be concerned about their strength. I have heard of one person with a cracked spoke whose wheel was replaced by the supplier, and with so many out there maybe they are OK, but I wouldn't chance it myself.
