Can anyone tell me if i need to do a ecu reset for optimax its a my97 if i need to do one how do i do it is it right that you disconnect the battery????

1 of the 2 ways as far as I know. I disconnect it for about an hour and a half, others do this as well but not for as long......

This is the way that i feel comfortable with, but it is supposedly simple to join the wires under the steering column as well to achieve the same result. 1 bonus of this is that you dont have to play the 'let's completely reprogram the stereo' game every time.......Doh.

What happens to the imobiliser does that effect it if i disconect the battery?????????
