I know no-one buys a Scooby for its looks, but that *really* doesn't mean you HAVE to make the new ones so Pig Ugly!!!

Like the back but they could have done more with the front.

Not that its probably anything more than a bullsh1t photoshop image.

 

Proper number of doors though.

 

AutoExpress is full of $h!t. Every 8th issue has yet another mock-up of a future Impreza, and they never get it right until after an official press release, when it's hardly a scoop There must be one guy there who's pretty good at Photoshop who gets paid to dream this $h!t up all day. Great job.

 

It looks like a cross between an MY06 and an Alpha Romeo

Evo X is looking better by the day

 

For once, front end looks good--well O.K. but rear end is a disaster--swage lines far too pronounced and also angled all wrong--reminds me of a wheelbarrow!
Other details--look at spoiler, the way it cuts across rear side window---again all wrong.
Article seems to suggest Subaru after increased market share with better interior quality and even a flat 4 diesel to make an appearance but no mention of a 5 door version which will be a must to attract increased sales.
I could live with a hatchback to replace my wagon( for family and practical reasons) but would not consider a 3 door.
I also agree with other comments re. doubt about this Auto Express "version" being already "signed off", especially as launch still about 18 months away.
Any other views?

As far as I can see it's just Autocar blending designs of the MY06, P2 and B5-TPH which maybe for once closer to the truth than Autocar actually realise IMHO

I also remember a year or so back when Auto Express had pics of the 06 WRX and everyone didn't believe it would ever actually look like that. It did...

 

Not sure about it. Looks like a cut n shut job between an Alfa 156 tourer and the current Impreza... except they cut too much of the roof away, and ended up with a V shaped chassis.

I'll keep my Classic for a bit longer, I think...

 

Hasn't Subaru already shown us what the 08 Impreza WILL look like? It looked Cr@p anyway, but I can't see them changing design completely at this late stage.
What Auto Express has done, is what they always do, i.e. print false artist impressions of what THEY WANT as the next new car.
According to Auto Express, I should already be driving around in a 4wd Focus RS Cosworth ????????????????? As printed a while back. (Another Artist impression)
The new Impreza will look like the one that Subaru showed. That means it will be bigger, wider, taller, and heavier than the current one.

... but i hate to say the new Evo looks loads better

 

That looks great! I'd even consider moving back to a Scoob from the Z!

 

I've has a go at photoshopping it - can't make it look any nicer when it's pimped! This one has me beaten, therefore I conclude - it's a dog!
