Default Dealing without rear wash wipe?

About to take delivery of my MY06 WRX and this will be the first car I have owned without a rear wash-wipe.

Whilst this is an incredibly minor thing on a top car - I can see it will annoy me. Has anyone tried the rainX-type stuff on the rear screen?

Does it work, and if so can anyone recommend a particular brand?

Cheers!

It drives me mad!! I've got a bad habit of always wiping every drop of the windscreen so the back really bugs me!!

NOTHING works like a rear wash/wipe ................

You are going to miss it so badly ..... it really is that important - the wifes car hasn't got one and I HATE it!!!

It's called 'Rain-X', yellow bottle, black writing. It makes a big difference. Next best thing to a wiper!

My only gripe with Impreza's is the lack of a rear wiper. I was told the rear window was supposed to be self clearing when travelling ie, the air flow over the car cleared the water.
Utter bollox in my opinion.

If you had been purchasing a MY'06 sti, then can understand your frustration that saloon does not come with a rear wiper( although 2.0 JDM's do, at least in sti version) but if you are looking at the purchase of a WRX, why did you not consider the more practical wagon, complete with rear wiper?

He is only asking a simple question. Do you have to mock everyone?

Spot on.
Ive had a few Saloons and as stated, hardly any had rear wash wipes as they dont actually get that dirty when your driving along, the rear of the car on the other hand.....

Oh come on!!

Can't live without a wash wipe? It's daft.
I'm not mocking everyone, just one ones who can't live without rear wash wipes.

I suppose you glazed completly over Lewis's, Nathan's and Simo's sarcasm did you?

I didn't think saloons had rear wipers anyway?

Does the 3 series/5 series have them?

I always thought it was a hatch back thing?

And that makes it ok for you to start on me yet ignore the others?

Let the post originator justify his own ground, rather that you run around with the usual chip on your shoulder.

No chip, never had a chip. You're the one who is trying to justify your posts.

Isn't this forum for people who actually like the Impreza?

Are you guys being serious? Your that bothered by a rear wiper? Most saloon cars dont have rear wipers as they are not really required to be fair.

But missing it that bad.. Jesus.. Think you guys need councelling!

It does serve a purpose, I would be annoyed if my motor didn't have one.
I mean, even my fiancee's K reg Nissan Micra has a rear wiper! Bit tight of Subaru not bothering with most of the Imprezas.

Why the need for a rear wiper ?????

Sounds a bit gay to me.....Shouldn't you be more worried about looking out the windscreen..

I'm sure I'm not the only person who's been driving an unfamiliar vehicle in brilliant sunshine and somehow inadvertantly activated the rear wash wipe by mistake...Only to spend the entire duration of the journey trying to figure out how to turn the sodding thing off again
