Default new member saying HELLO

hey there!!

i just joined today!

currently drive a mazda mx6 -KLZE
too many mods to list!! i love the car
but thats in the UK where i live now
http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150494
link above has pics of my mx6 if any1 is interested!!

just got a 2004 STi backhome JERUSALEM!! (moving there in the summer)
and won't get 2 drive her till 1st of july when i get there

its blue, no mods! with only 45 000km on the clock!! 4 services! perfect condition!

umm i don't want to mod the STi tho! unless a tubro timmer or something that might be usefull...

i got a few questions tho

the car is a 2.0 turbo not the 2.5! it also doesn't have the DCCD!
and i was told its got 278 BHP! now i know the ones here WR1 have 300 and other STis have more(than 278)!! whats the difference between what i have and the WR1?? is it just ECU? or actual turbo?

also engine wise whats different from the STi and WRX prodrive?

thanks inadvance

Welcome to scoobynet Rasheed

answers:
1/ DCCD wasn't an option on euro sti's until 2005, on 2006 they are standard on the sti.
2/280bhp is standard for a euro sti. WR1's are remapped by Prodrive to produce around 330bhp standard. It's just mapping thats different, no difference in turbo. All cars are different, exact same spec cars will give different results on a dyno.
3/wrx and sti have a few differences engine wise, mainly bottom end stronger on the sti, bigger intercooler, not 100% sure about everything else, as there are a number of differences. Basically, the sti is a stronger base with which to mod.

Why get a turbo timer? Most useful mod would be performance driving lessons, just leave the engine running after a hard run for a minute or so

Enjoy your motor, when you get there

chris.

cw42 .......

Euro sti was the same as a UK sti and thats 262bhp surely, not 280bhp...Unless of course the MY04 put out more power than the new 2.5?

The WR1 was 316bhp not 330bhp

Hello, and welcome.

Are you taking the Mazda back to Jerusalem or leaving it here.

PS. What are the roads like for your STI back home ?

was under the impression wr1 was 330! Only 316! Thats not much

Yoza, I'm sure they've got good roads in Jerusalem, probably better than Liverpublian ones
