Question on central locking activating when driving away as a security measure
I read a post on here somewhere (which for the life of me I now can't find) that you can set the central locking to activate as you drive away.
You see I've just purchased a MY02 WRX bugeye which I understand is fitted with a CAT1 immobiliser and alarm as standard, and so I would like to know if I can set this up in my car. If this is the case how do I go about doing this?
Cheers,
Paul

You need to enter the appropriate code via the key pad by the drivers right knee.
Unfortunately I don't know what the code is though, however you may be able to get it from the alarm/immobiliser user guide?

IIRC, on the standard Subaru fit Sigma M30 alarm, turn to ignition and press fob button so the LED flashes once. Press 4 on keypad and turn off ignition. Doors will now lock when ignition is turned on, and unlock when turned off. Can be overruled by the button next to the E/W switches, or by leaving the door ajar when turning to ignition (for example, when wanting to start engine and then exit to defrost windows). To revert follow the same sequence but press 5 instead.

I've started locking the doors when I get in now (well when I think about it anyway!!) - Think I'll turn this feature on tonight.
One question - I know you can overide the lock by simply opening the door as normal - Can any other passenger do the same?
Just conscious that if something happened and I needed to get out I can - Want to know my passengers can as well....

This is seriously a good feature. On my friends Golf GTi 1.8T we used a PC and a cable he bought off the internet to plug into the car and change it to do this. Set it so once he reached 5 miles an hour it locked all doors but could be overidden by opening from the inside.
With the increase in hijacks on these types of cars, it is well worth it.

That's what I think too. Although car jacking is not high in my area (well hope not anyway), it's just for piece of mind!
My mates Jag does it too.
