As you all know (well those of you who are clients, anyway) I am always on call for you...available at most times of the day and night to offer guidance, advice, comment and sometimes a shoulder to cry on following, maybe, an incident involving your beloved Scoobs.
Well this weekend I decided to take it upon myself to test the Insurance Scheme that I so thoughtfully set up for myself (and my P1), and all of you guys'n'gals that are presently insured on the scheme.
Now, we know that I (most of the time) can come up with the right price....and most of the time the paperwork gets to you on time...the garage gets the covernote...the policy documents are issued without problem etc etc...however it's not often easy to test the claims service.
Now earlier this year, August to be precise, a certain Mr Barron was involved in a non fault accident...and we, Schofield Insurance Brokers resolved the situation within 7 days, providing (following negotiation with insurers) a brand new P1 for him.
As you have probably guessed I was not content with this, and as I could not ask any of you to test the claims service of Independent Insurance for me, took it upon myself to STUFF my very own P1 into a tree on your behalves!!!!
Now I have to say that the bodywork held up quite well. I got round the 1st corner with no problems at all...then the wet roads, mud, and my $h1te driving got the worst of me....and having taken cars round tracks, driving courses and all that....what did I do....I bloody well lifted off mid way through the turn.....!!?? DOH!
Anyway to cut what is becoming a very long boring story short...I almost saved it....although the tree has managed to rearrange the whole of the passenger side of the car! Not a pretty sight.
Hopefuly later today I will be able to arrange for a suitable courtesy car etc etc etc.
Let me stress that I did this in the interest of testing the scheme that I so passionatly try to sell to you all....
C'est la vie, huh...now we'll really see how good I am...or am not...
Laters...
Tom

Hi Tom,
Sorry to here about your misfortune
Hope your O.K.?
You have my sympathies; I know how gutting this feels.
Perhaps you may be able to get yourself a brand new P1!
Hope you manage to get things sorted as quickly for yourself as you did for me.
Cheers,
Rob Barron

Cheers Rob....
Yea gutted...basically just stupidity on my part....shouldn't have lifted off...usual stuff, I was committed to the corner...and then....BAM.
Hopefully the damage isn't too bad - tho you can never tell til they get it on the rack/jig.
New car would be nice - but I don't think its going to run to £15k + for repairs.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Ah Tom
It's good to see a True Professional at work
Very pleased that no-one was hurt.. Cars are only metal ( oh and plastic) after all..
Mmmm Such dedication makes me think I'd want you to be my insurance agent

Tom,
If you feel the need for a beer, let me know...
Anyhow, where did this happen? Anywhere local that I should be more careful?
Glad to hear that only your pride is bruised!
Sheesh, these people who push the price of premiums up...

Chiark....a beer...now thats a good idea...tho might have to walk.
The place...
Arthington Road heading from Arthington Church/Hall towards Wharfedale Pub - Poole etc...nice left hander, sweeping into (what was until Saturday night) a nice right hander. White metal fencing on right, low wall and trees on left. Old post office and housing on left just after bend on Poole side of the bend...
Basically I had just come down a dirty, muddy lane to the main road and was in a rush to go out to dinner...well meet up with some mates at the Hunters Pub on Poole/Harrogate road - hit the corner as I normally do, swept into the right...felt it drifting, tried to correct....Whoops...lifted off... .....big mistake....bang...bump...up bank, slide, correct...crack, tree...down bank...bang, crack...Oh Sh%t...whooops....errrrr are you OK??? to the other half...etc etc etc...
Bingo one dented Subaru and one dented pride...
re the "bumping up insurance prices"...sorry..but I had to do it...I need more money...and that means more premium....so best way to bump car ...he he he NOT!!!
If you fancy a beer and you're in the Horsforth area this eve....give me a bell on 0113 250 0377 and I'll walk up
Speak soon

Tom,
Nice to see that you and rob barron are so public spirited that you attempting to increase the value of the remaining P1s by reducing their numbers to make them even more exclusive....
