MY96 STI V.2 - what speed should I be doing at 6,000rpm in 5th gear?

My car seems to rev up the range very quickley, just wondered if there was an RA box in there! Where are the gearbox serial numbers?

 

0 MPH because your engine will have gone BANG!!!!!

Keep it under 3000 RPM and be sensible!

You should be doing 70 cuase thats the limit The gears are close though my sti2 i have to go into 3rd to get to 60

totally depends on the gearbox you have,if your running an ra or very early sti at 6k it feels like your gonna blow up!

 

Wondered how long it would take to get some abuse from PSlewis!!!

I'm not to sure about the box thats in TBH.

FarmerWRX - I'm assuming the Type R has the shorter ratio gearbox than the standard STI?? Because 120mph is what I have at 6,000 rpm (5th gear PSlewis!!), obviously not on her Majesty's highways!

120, gearing on my ra v limited my 2000 is 20mph/1000rpm in fifth.

 

same on my type r v ltd my 99,20mph/1000rpm in fifth.

 

If it is a STi 2 then the standard gearing for 5th is about 22mph/1000rpm
