Received a letter today from the MD of Adams Of Aylesbury.
It stated how he had just been to the UK Dealer launch of the new model, how excited he was, how stunning the car looked, and how the driving experience was out of this world. It wasn't like he was going to say anything negative about it now was he.
The letter finished off by saying once the new model demonstrator was in, I would be personally invited to drive it.
There was also a colour photocopy of the new motor. Having already followed the crowd with saying how much I didn't like it, I was quite surprised when I thought to myself, 'hey, that looks all right.' Do I now need help???
Anyways, I'm sure there are many others out there who have received the same letter. Dare I even ask what you think?????

Not received the letter.
Was in for 7500 service this morning at my dealer (AF Noble). Colin Noble said he'd been to the UK dealer launch and raved about the looks of the new model.
I commented that I'd reserve further judgement until I'd seen it in the metal.
Nobles should have them in about 2 weeks...

1st Rule of Marketing - never, never tell the truth about your product - tell em what they want to hear
There is a good chance that the dealers where briefed to say how much they liked the car once they had seen it in the flesh. I belive that it is unlikely that the dealers would send out invites to view the new car with "It is not that pretty but come along anyway, i have kids at public school and i may have to send 'em to the local hell hole if you do not buy one"
Still, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
God, that sounds sarcastic, no having a 'pop' honest, i do have this mental image if the dealers all sat there and the guy from marketing saying "now repeat after me..."

I too got a letter from my dealer this am about how i will be able to drive the new car soon...
The MORE interesting bit of the letter apart from telling me i could still buy a P1... was the prices given for the new model...
£21,191
Okay so they have a price.. ha ha you say but more interesting was the statement that went with it... along the lines of...
Subaru UK have given the dealer some financial support with the new model so they can offer good part exchanges, reduced prices or get this interest free credit.. yep thats what it said..
Now this suggests 2 things to me...
1) that they wanna compete with the likes of Ford and Vauxhall and keep competitive or
2) they know the car 'aint gonna sell itself' as well as the old....
The choice is yours.... i know what i think...

Yep, I got the same letter this morning. Looks like a PR stunt to me. Its a case of "the emperor's new clothes". They think if enough people tell you that it looks stunning then you'll agree rather than be the odd one out. Don't know Scooby drivers very well do they !! We WANT to be different and I think half of the problem with the new car is that it looks too much like bits of lots of other cars around at the moment (worst bits that is).
My bet will be that they are aiming mainly at the American market and the thing will have softer suspension and steering with as much feedback as a dealer who's got your deposit.
I can't believe the people who have put an order in and paid their deposit before they have even seen the thing, let alone driven it.
The EVO VII is looking better and better.
Ian.
