Thumbs down

It's been a while since I last posted, but before customer complaints get a call I thought I'd listen to other opinions.

I've just had my car (99T) serviced and have been told I need new discs. The cars only clocked 27K. I've tried for a warranty claim, but it has been rejected under wear & tear item. It's strange that they replaced the clutch on 22K free of charge. The carpet also has a hole now from getting in & out of the car.

Has anyone had luck fighting Subaru on these issues

Dealers will replace discs if they are cracked or warped. but not if they have simply worn thin.

I think that before you can get a considered response, you'd have to explain why the dealer says the disks need replacing.

I had the disks on my MY98 replaced under warranty at something around 22-25,000 miles with no problem, but that was because of uneven wear. Is the wear on yours even? Have you always used standard pads? If you have had the car from new, and have always used standard pads, I would have thought you had a reasonable claim. However, if they are simply worn out, or you've been using uprated pads, then you don't stand much of a chance IMHO.

With a few more details I'm sure the more knowledgable members of the board will offer their opinions.
