That first bit isn't true. I had a Z4 in my last Impreza, a MY95 WRX.

Still needs Optimax and booster as its set-up for Jap 100 RON fuel.

It does however give you 256bhp running on 100 RON, as opposed to your 236.

This is a commonly perpetuated myth (about Japanese fuel). 100RON fuel wasnt available when the Series A; B and C1 cars were manufactured. The Z4 will run on Optimax or Tesco 99RON fuel quite happily. You should always fit a 'KnockLink' though; because, as with all early Subaru ECUs; its very slow to react to detonation and it has a feeble range of ignition adjustment (in retard) available to it when it finally tries.....

This has already been discussed.

As above it WILL work FINE on uk super unleaded ALONE (97 or more ron) Ideally optimax or better

It will produce 256 ish bhp.

You will find them on ebay and sites like this. Just check the lid, it should have z4 stamped on it. If you ask for a z4 ecu people will know what you mean.

Agree knocklink is a good idea to monitor knock and will identify bad batches of fuel etc
