He took the Redbull ads too literally and has taken to the skies in his Microlight

Seriously!

The name pops up in the BMAA - British Microlight Aircraft Association - magazine now and then. I did wonder if it was one and the same.

Pete was a qualified Quantity Surveyor so he has reverted to that plus the microlighting

Spooky this..!

I was doing a search yesterday with regards to spring kits v's coil over's etc.. and whilst reading a thread from 03 sometiime, this one guy kept popping up, obvioulsy seemed to be very knowledeable (and a bit outspoken). Infact as I didn't recognise the name (his post count was high) it made me wonder what happened to him. Name..? Pete Croney..!

Then next thing I know someone's asking about him...! (que theme from 'twilight zone')

Quite often when reading older posts I wonder what happend to this guy or that guy..!

Echo the above positive comments. Pete was a massive help to the community until a couple of years ago and his parting with scoobysport was a sad loss to the subaru community on the whole.

Sure, not all saw eye to eye, but there were a damn sight more positives from his involvement over the years, and I dare to say that the subaru scene wouldn't be what it is now if it hadn't ben for him and a few like minded individuals.

I had my first car mapped and exhausted at the original scoobysport. Customers were queueing out the doors so was surprised when it all went bosoms up! Seemed to be putting a lot of investment in, with his own braking and suspension set ups.

Don't think he ripped anyone off... not in the old days, anyhow.

IIRC, the ones in the know beggered off and set up elsewhere, I am guessing here but I think it is Extreme Scoobies which they set up. That left Croney to talk the talk but alas could not walk the walk. So he obviously packed it in.

If you read Harvey's website the Judge summing up the case made Croney to be highly incompetent.

Thumbs up Positive

I found Pete to be okay, talked sense, did me some good deals for me and never ripped me off. You can only say as you found, he even gave me (small) stuff for nought.

He did have the gift of the gab but I am surprised he got away with it for so long.
A likable rogue I guess unless it was you being ripped off.
I was one of these "people" a few years back .... got nothing but lies and broken promises .... needed Trading Standards to get my money back for a non existant exhaust .... 3 months later!

I later found out that my order was never going to be delivered due to supplier disputes .... he knew this when I placed it and quite happily took my money!

Didnt he appear on fifth gear after winning a competition to drive a rally car. I dont think he appeared on here again after that came rolling along.
