Servicing
Still on the look out for a Scooby but struggling at the moment
Recently had contact with a seller about a 99/T Saloon Turbo 2000 - 56k.
I asked about the cambelt change which he informed me was due at 60k.
I was under the impression that pre MY00 models cambelt service was 45k or 4 years?
Considering this car is nearly 7 years old - I would have hoped the owner would have changed it by now even if he hadn't reached the mileage.
How much would I expect to pay for a belt change and do I need to do the tensioner as well?
Car has been standing for 2 months (SORN) and the owner also didn't admit starting the car in this time - Makes me think he doesn't treat it quite how I'd like.....

my my99 had the belt changed at 45k.
45k service inc belt from a good independant should cost in the region of £350.

Even some MY00 have the 45k change. It depends on chassis number IIRC, if there's an X it's 45k, Y and it's 60k.
Anything pre MY00 should be 45k. Mine was about £550 with some other bits and bobs, from a main dealer

Good to know - If I decide to buy I'll definitely look to knock at least 500 off the asking price.
Still a bit concerned that the owner has gone by the mileage rather than the age - I've seen some service books that have had the belts changed between 25-35k just because it was 4 years old.
Should I be worried about the car being left standing for 2 months?
