Default Shake, rattle and roll

Some creaks, and rattles have appeared in my scooby (04 STi). Is that something that can be sorted under warranty?? They certainly weren't there when i bought it.

Just wanted to check with the pro's and have ammunition if the garage says otherwise.

hu-hum, yes. Just recently too, with the Prodrive Springs. Reckon it's that?? It has made a damn site harder ride.

Well, the windscreen seems to creak around the edges, and there's a couple of rattles that are in the dash. If i press the air vent to the right of the wheel with some force, it stops the dash rattle

I guess i could drive with one hand pushing the vent. Oh, but wait, without both hands on the wheel the tramlining would send me off the road

Don't rub it in you!

My new contract fell through, so the 333 is on hold . I asked about just the exhaust for now and the remap etc etc later, was not recommended.

I miss the flat4 rumble. I guess it's the stereo for now. Just i can't hear my little girl in the back saying "off", "on", "off", "on" - for the centre light.

Damn i want the exhaust note. My classic had a scorpion, which sounded great, now i just have to imagine it.

same as above...... if i can hear a rattle in my car, it means the stereo isn't loud enough!!

I also have prodrive springs on an 03-plate WRX. And i have an annoying rattle somewhere inside the dash.

They can be done under warranty but question is do you really want a dealer taking your car to bits. Rattles are pretty common and if it's really annoying it might be better to trace them and fix them yourself. Just my opinion unless you can trust your dealer of course.

I don't really have an option. I'd do it myself if it wasn't for a lack of tools, know-how and time. At least i now know they can be done at the garage. I'll see what they say and mention that it didn't happen prior to their springs. See what happens. I don't really drive with the stereo on, so until i get a decent exhaust note, i guess i'd better crank it up.

Cue the dealer response -

"they all do that sir"
"no fault found"
"we've ordered parts, we'll get back to you"
"subaru are looking into it"
"it's a characteristic"

My Legacy creaks like an old floor board, really **** quality plastics that get worse with age.

Dealers won't even waste their time unless you pressure the sales guy that sold it to you.

Lesson - don't buy another Subaru, get a BMW/Audi if you want decent build quality.

All 4 of my new Subaru's have creaked/rattled/squeaked after 6 months, If I wasn't tied into the car because of its chronic depreciation I would never buy one again.
