Default Importing privately from Japan

i have a couple of contacts if japan who can get me an sti6 for around £4000. is it worth considering? what other costs would there be? shipping, duty etc.?

as its a post 1997 car and no model report available it will be financially unviable to put on the road , but it can be done, or just use it a a track car, 4 grand for the car, is there any agent fees to put on top of that, then £500 ish to ship to uk inc doc and customs charges then 10% duty and 17.5 % vat on top of the above inc the cost of the car, thats the car all paid for but then u have the on the road costs to contemplate,ie a single noise and emissions compliance test approval ,an esva test after conversions etc which will prob be more than wot the car will already stand u , hope this helps ,
