You can get Silko delivered next day from www.opieoils.co.uk
Give them a ring and ask for Simon, or send a PM on here to oilman.

Can't help on the filter info, but I'd say stick with OE Subaru stuff as aftermarket filters can be crap.

Oil filter I bought for my MY98 Sport fits my MY95 JDM WRX perfectly - was a genuine Subaru filter, less than a tenner. I am pretty certain the filters fit all models.

£4 for a genuine Subaru Oil Filter ............ don't even think about looking elsewhere.

When it comes to Oil, I use this:-

It's £15 for 5 Litres and comes very highly recommended

I used the correct one, indeed I did ................... it's the **** one I didn't use!!

Empty old oil, unscrew old filter, fill new filter, screw new filter onto engine, fill with new oil to low mark, start engine and allow to idle for 5 minutes, recheck level, check for leaks, close bonnet - drive away - repeat in 6 months.

Total time = 20minutes

Sorted

The fresh oil will be cold. Fill to the low mark and run the engine 'til warm. Switch off and let settle then check and top up to around middle if required.

I once saw a sectioned audi genuine filter (as fitted to a quattro turbo) as compared to a cheap motor store item costing about half as much. The genuine article had a spring and small valve inside, the other did not. The purpose was to stop oil draining from the galleries when the engine was stopped, a kind of non-return valve. The effect on the cold start (when most wear occurs) is obvious.

You pays your money and takes your choice...

Agree with the above genuine item only £4 from main dealer just dont tell em its an import, also you may need a chassis number to get a genuine filter as a lot of these main dealers are a feckin nuisance
