Default New London car theft anti-hijack method.

Mate in the police force forwarded this to me today. Thought it would be worth passing on.

It's a crazy world out there........

Dan

-Found out about this at work the other night, might concern you or
anyone you know with an expensive car

For example

Your car is parked in a car park, when you return to your car, get in
and start it, you realise that there is some paper/cardboard stuck to
your rear windscreen.

You get out to remove it so you can reverse out of the space, and low
and behold the car jackers appear from nowhere and drive your car, and
away, Anti-hijack, if you have it, will more than likely be disabled.

I presumme that mr car thief guesses that most people won't bother to
take the keys out of the ignition just to go 2 yards to the back of
the car to remove a the paper/cardboard, and he's/she's right.

Had a few high end Bmws, Audis and you guessed, it Scoobs and Evos go
using this method recently.

Rear screen blocked? lock your doors and drive away from the immediate
area and remove the paper/cardboard later.

Just because it is a hoax doesn't mean it won't work and shouldn't be something for us to be aware of surely?

Don't worry about bits of cardboard. A true crack head will just punch you in the face or knife you. That way they get to take your wallet as well.

But it's obvious though isn't it. Everyone knows not to leave their keys in the car when they're out of it, esp in a public place. We don't need hoax threads going round getting people all panicky and getting things all out of proportion.

Funny the Police of all people spreading it. Not so long ago the village free newsletter (where I grew up) had a piece written by the village bobby about the one where a caller asks to borrow your phone and dials a £50 per minute phone number. Pity anyone who broke down and asked to use the phone.
