Default MODS?

hello

help and advise im wanting to do some mods to my wrx 95.

1st k&n induction kit. i assume that i remove the old one and bolt the new one straight on. by doing this mod will it improve the cars performance at all and does it make the engine any louder?

2nd door piller pods. thay look simple to fit but are thay a pain to wire up?
all im wanting is a boost gauge.

thanks for your advise.
gaz.

Id advise that you forget the pointless K&N 'induction kit'. All it will add to your car is a large amount of induction noise; Imprezas dont benefit from induction modifications until theyre making big horsepower.

The second element of your question is more subjective, in that its a matter of taste. Surely extra gauges look better mounted centrally? (unless its a pointless boost gauge of course)

Induction kits open up a whole door of problems if you dont remap properly, i'd advise just upgrading your panel filter.

I'd personally fork out and pay someone who knows what they are doing to fit your gauges, that way you cant **** anything up! (defi's are the way forward)

Boost gauge will take an expert about an hour to fit.

Most people on here will try to scare you away from an induction kit. I have had mine fitted for two years now with no problems. My two friends also have them fitted for almost as long with no probs. It depends what you want out of your car. A K&N will give you more induction noise and it will also increase the wastegate chatter. Mine was fitted to allow for the FMIC pipework which was fitted by a reputable garage (The boys at the Clinic). Like i said it depends on what you want from your car, I did listen to a lot of the keyboard warriors on here but then thought it best to seek advice from people that know what they are talking about. If they were that bad I would of been advised to dump it but no.

You pays ya money

You take ya chances.

PS The boys at ScoobyClinic have not long fitted a 6 speed conversion, Organic clutch, FMIC, ScoobyEcu and then put it on the rollers where its runnin 301.9 bhp (had to get the point 9 in lol) It pulls like a train know all the upto 150 mph where I backed off . Thanks again Adam, Kev and the lads.
