Default Is the Std 02 intercoller any better than a std 99 intercooler?

I have recently fitted a VF28 turbo to my 99 wagon and thought I would look to change the intercooler next, I would prefer to keep the top mount option and I know I should really be looking for a STI model, however is it worth changing for a standard 02 intercooler?

Well, i thought it was a good enough upgrade to do it, if you wanna see it in the flesh, we're having a dorset meet at the Fox and Hounds just off the Canford bottom roundabout on the A31 Wimborne bypass......

The hardest part was getting the dumpvavlve pipework sorted..... you could use a vta, or just go and buy the pipe from Subaru.. but i didn't wanna do that

Hi mate,

Have you noticed much difference with the VF28 fitted and did you have anything else done as a pre-req?

If it is different, in what way?

Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, been away for the weekend, fitting the VF28 has made a massize difference, with just a piper cross air filter, wide neck down pipe, std center and straight through back box I had it up at powerstation near Gloscester for re-map and left with 307.8 BHP!!!!
