Anyone got any idea of the power output on these and which years have which power

Have a look on SIDC for the exact figures but I think early STi's had approx 250bhp, roughly 1995-99 STi's had 280bhp then the very last classic STi's arre supposed to have 300bhp

what do you mean by earlier ones always thought the v4 was 300bhp.

Did you get beaten by one mate, and you want to make sure it had more power than you

 

Think you'll find that from my97 onwards, all sti saloon's had around 295-300bhp. My sti 4 (standard at the time) got 293 bhp on the rollers with a 'blowing' exhaust!

i've just bought a early RA its a 1995 model on a N so i'm assuming mine is a 276bhp version

The later STi's official figures by Subaru were 280bhp (as per the Japanese Gentlemens agreement) but in reality they are pushing out anything from 300-305bhp approx.

I found my Sti Type-R V5 to be pushing out 330bhp on 100octane fuel and a de-cat exhaust.
Now its back in the UK and has a cat. and will be running on Optimax, I predict the figure will be down to around 300bhp.

 

i think its putting out more than that cos it feels quicker than my old MY99, its going on the dyno next week anyway so all will be revealed!!

 

Itll feel quicker because the early RAs have a 4.333:1 final drive. as standard, a 1995 RA will have 260PS as already stated.

my sti type R version 6 2000 had 268bhp on optimax when standard.and my mates version 4 sti wagon had 278 on optimax.(if these figures are of any help)both cars were run on the rollers at powerstation.

 

My V5 Type R Now has 320bhp on optimax with decat and remap,

 

Not at all just want something a little faster than my 01 bugeye wagon with ppp

Got approx 8-9k anyone with any feedback will help

i'm confused here cos a book i've been reading has stated my MY95 STI RA has got 275PS so where you all getting 260PS from? mines got the trick bits on it like water spray, dccd and a roof vent.

 

Dave they think you're car is a WRX-RA not an STI-RA, thats why they are quoting 260ps.
With you're car being an STI-RA it will have 275ps.

ok thanks mate, i never said i had a WRX RA so i don't know why they thought that, all i said in my original post was i had a MY95 RA and i think all STI's built that year were RA's. just looked at the link on page 1 on here and its shows mine as having 272bhp as standard

 

MY95 RA means WRX RA if it was an STI they'd say

 

it is a STI RA mate so there you go i've just said!!!!
