Subaru B5 Hatchback
I did a search, couldn't see any earlier thread.
There have been various rumours: Subaru might be going for a hatchback, end the Impreza evolution, some "new" WRC rules may be influencing this, etc, etc (another Link thinks this might even be a WRC car - http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/gossip/...007-037714.php).
Following Link below is just an example from the Tokyo Motor Show.
The B5 looks OK to me, but replace the Impreza??! But then on the other hand, classic owners might welcome this (increase rarity, etc)? Most seem to agree that Subaru just seems to keep on screwing up the looks of the front, for whatever strange reason - though much improved dynamics (DCCD).

All i can say mate is I think all the rumours are a pile of b0ll0cx. Subaru may bring out a hatchback but if it looks anything like that prototype, my car and your car will become more sought after over the years.
You think of an impreza and you think Sports saloon with bonnet vent. If subaru bring out a hatchback, i'm sure they will carry on with the saloons as well as if they don't, they will have a totally different bunch of buyers.
Personally, I think the blobeye is the nicest looking impreza to date. The MY06 has a similar front end (lights) to the new BMW's, which (as much as I respect certain BMW's) spoils the impreza's "Ugly" rally looks.
That "supposed" picture of an evo 10 looks alot nicer than that subaru hatchback BTW so if they both went the hatchback way and left the saloon dead, I'm sure the new EVO would be the better seller.

I agree with you re Bugeye STi7 (compact headlamp/3d etc) - the V8 would have been an improvment if only they hadn't designed them on a Transit Van!
MY06 - Enid Sharples (can't spel it!) specs, as Clarkson would say.
Anyway, let's see what comes in '07 - otherwise, yes, value to the Classic.
Cheers
