I am getting PPP STI next week and am unsure whether up pipe and down pipe have cats in them. I know centre section has a Prodrive sports cat but if there are more cats like the WRX has I want to get rid of them
Anyone know?

 

Your STi will not have one in the up pipe I believe you have 2 from turbo to backbox though (centre section and downpipe)

 

One high performance CAT in the downpipe only.
That's your lot.

The centre cat on std car gets removed on all PPP newage kits.

I've "got" 25 in mine....the trick is to blind them with full beam and then they're sitting ducks!!!

alright m8. there is a cat in the up pipe front the headers which does not get removed on ppp. also there is a thinner cat added in the ppp downpipe. the centre cat is removed but there is still another cat after that which will give so much more performance when removed. also the ppp back box will sound raspier when u have a full deecat but keep the ppp back box. u will also get alot more popping when coming down off of the revs with a straight threw decat. in time after u have a full decat try the scooby sport back box but if u can try and get ur hands on the earlyer model box because they have a much better sound ..

 

Dipster is correct, no UK STi has a cat in the up-pipe and the only cat you will have is the high flow one in the downpipe which is not restrictive anyway.

How many cats as standard and which is changed/removed for PPP (or is just a backbox and resonator box thats removed) ??

05 WRX has three moggies, one of which is removed for PPP.
