Question for NFU policy holders
#1
It looks like I am going to use NFU this year, as I was impressed with the manner that they handled my quote, answered the questions that I posed, and previous thumbs up on this BB.
As those of you who know me know, Ive a plain std MY99, but been panning to mod ever since day 1, a wedding put pay to those plans, but my finances are nearly healthy again now, so roll on those mods!
When I spoke to NFU yesterday, I was told that if you basicish mods, these will mean they will rate your car as an RB5 (group 18), but if you go serious they will class as a P1, and give you group 20P (it was 20P i think). If you go bonkers with mods, they will class as 20S, and they cannot insure this!
So my question (finally ) is who has done what with NFU, and what difference has it made to premium?
cheers guys

Robski,
I went with NFU for the same reasons you did. As for mods - the only ones that affected the premium were those that boosted power. I have a PPP on my MY96 - told them it actually made bog all difference but the 'brouchure states...bla bla..'. Don't think it made a huge difference.
17" alloys, brakes, suspension etc were noted but made no difference at all. In fact they agreed that the brakes were added safety...
Top company - for this year anyway! Wait to see next years premium.
Dave
PS: group for me was 17b - the 'b' meant that additional drivers over 30 were zero cost - under 30 +£400.

But Greg
Ask anyone who was with Admiral what their recent renewal was (& they did cover Track Days) & I bet it was more than Eggars for a couple of Track Days
I would prefer low general premiums & pay a bit for "that extra something" with Eggar Lawson & not potentially B up my NCD for the next few years.
IMHO

*LMAO*
Insure with me - I won't give you the option of track day cover !!! *L* It is EXCLUDED...
...although if you speak nicely I can arrange it.
I agree with PTMW - best thing is to get cover on a specialist scheme - thus not risking premium increases at renewal - or more to the point affecting your NCD.
A few months ago I started looking into the track day cover with a view to sorting a special Scooby Scheme.....*sigh*....but I got such a Cr@p response I dropped the idea...
C'est la vie, huh???
All the best.
