I think its a case of how much you are willing to lose as to whether you actually sell it or not!!

just sold mine. residuals across the board for imprezas are dropping like a stone. Im amazed at some of the hopeful prices that some people are asking. Think its a combination of many reasons for people selling now, running costs, the economy, excess supply etc.
some cars are overpriced by up to 3k on here

I think the reasons for the now dire residual values for scoobs are:
1) market is now flooded with them, loads of cheap imports - not enough buyers
2) high running costs and very low MPG (at now V.high fuel cost) causing lots of owners to sell, & fewer want to buy
3) the chav problem - scoobs now the official car of choice for chavs/tossers
4) Subaru releasing a new look model every year, killing nearly new residual values which filters down
5) now lots of other choices that are as quick/quicker for similar low cash
6) you always get phases where certain cars are very popular, but these phases always come to an end which seems to be happening now with Scoobs

Its true second hand prices seem to be falling more than usual. This is especially true of all performance cars that I have looked into.
