Are Decals Cool or Chav ?
Hi
Mine is a Racing Green classic.
Recently , I've been wondering what it would be like to put graphics on it (as it is not a "head turner" as they say, even with prodrive body kit).
So ..
Are graphics, decals, swooshes etc ,
A) Cool - They enhance the appearance of an otherwise visually un-remarkable four door sallon , OR
B) Chav - and I need my head tested for even thinking about it.
Any views appreciated - Mark

Do I enjoy seeing them on other people's cars? Yes.
Would I have them on mine? No.

I don't think that they are "chav", but then again i would never bring a big decal that consumes my car like the rally ones anywhere near my car unless it had been keyed everywhere and my pockets were shallow!

I'm with NS04.
Do I like seeing them on other cars - Yes
Would I have them on my car - No
They do look good on some cars, if the car is in top condition and the stickers are expertly applied.
On 'well worn' cars they look sh1te.

End of the day greenprodrive they're a personal choice. If you fancy getting your car stickered up get it done and who gives a flying **** what the people on here say!
Go easy with using the word 'chav' mate, on SN at least it seems to be the current buzzword that certain people use whenever they don't like what somebody else has done to their car!

Agree with Daft Lad. Some poeple on SN seem to use to word 'chav' to stereotype something they dont like!
I think loads of graphics look really good on an already smart looking scooby! Have been thinking about it myself.....

Every other thread is "oh I raced this, my scoob is the fastest car on the road" "my mate is so cool, he was driving the scoob through town like a maniac at over 100mph" etc etc..
I can understand the appeal of scoobs to max power readers tho - I hate to say it, but they basically come ready chavved-up with big exhaust, wings, bodykit scoops etc

Graphics are a personal choice. Some hate them, some love them, some just prefer alternate graphics over the rally team ones.
I went for the 555 graphics on my bugeye, they looked good IMO, I just couldnt live with them myself. Now gone for the clean look and feel much happier again.
But either way, Rally graphics arent chav!!

It is a shame that everyone gets tarred with the same brush. Not going to stop me loving my RB5 though..
It'll go full circle eventually and they will all move onto something else, and if you are the owner of a nice kept Impreza you will have something special

I think that boy racers and the like will get hold of Impreza's as well as other cars when they become more affordable - Evos, skylines, etc!
The difference will be the ones that throw the contents of halfords at them ('adjustable' wings, M3 mirrors, etc!), and the ones who keep them nice and clean looking and concentrate more on the performance/handling!
A nice clean Impreza with graphics all over it, will still look classy IMO!

As for graphics on Scoobies, as others have said I often think they look great when I see them on someone else's car but wouldn't personally want them on mine (I feel the same way about tattoos and women!!!)

Have to agree with the above posts in that I think graphics look cool on other peoples cars, but I wouldnt have them on mine. It's a personal choice on this one.

I Think they look cool on other peoples cars.
I also think they look cool on my car, Blue Bug with silver graphics.
At the end of the day, have em done if you dont like them, take them back off.

This was mentioned on the Supra forums earlier this week.
My take is, if someone is paying you to advertise their products and services, or supplying and fitting performance parts to your car, for a small or no fee, in exchange for their decals and logos, then yeah, go for it. But I personaly wouldn't have a shopping list down my door listing three grands worth of bolt on goodies for ****s and giggles. I'd also be worried about some thieving scumbag nicking all the gear that's listed on the door (it seems you can't park a WR1 in MK now).

These ongoing posts about 'is this chav or not?'. Everyone has an opinion. Do what you want on your own car and thats it. If you like big wings, decals and dump valves go for it. Some people will think your a chav even with a bog standard scoob anyway. The word 'chav' has just been so media hyped recentley that everyone constantley goes on about it, even my partents know the word chav and hooddie and think there well up on modern slang etc..
I thinnk decals look good if there applied correctley and there not too garish or wild colours that dont go with your car.
