Hi I was at Bluewater cruise last night chatting to some guys. When we were driving down one of the friend's turbo made a funny chattering noise when he changed gear. When I asked how he got it to make that noise, he said he took off his recirc dump valve. When I told him I had an ordinary dump valve, he said take it off and blank the hose and the hole that the dump valve left, but for now just take off the vacuum hose, it will do the same thing but not as noisy.

Is this the right thing to do and will it do damage to the turbo?
