Default What will £18000 (MAX) get me?

I'm soon to be in the market for an Impreza STI, funds will be between £16k-£18k, seen some that are fairly high mileage and on a 02 plate which I don't want!

Really after a 03 onwards, newer the better same with the mileage, what are the chances?

Also on servicing how often do your guys get your done?, is it about every 10k, and oil changes????.

Thanks
Darren

hey man, well im from ireland and prices here are mental and you wouldnt get a 02 here for that price let alone a 03, but from what i read on here i reckon you should pick yourself up a beautiful 03 sti 8 for 17k or 18k, havent been in one of the new sti's myself, have a classic sti type r which i love

Cheers guys, Would like to buy from a main dealer, might pay them a visit this weekend see what they got about!,

PPP upgrade although it would be very nice, even the insurance for that is fantastic, should I pay more for it, even though they came free with it? or was that just on 04/05 plates?

Isn't a JDM a tuned car?, if so I can't go too far BHP wise, then insurance will be going up. I have bugeted for a standard STI and a PPP STI.

Would a 55 plate be more on insurance do you think? as my quotes have been for an 04!?.

if you don't mind getting a euro import you can have a NEW STi for £18999 from Motorpoint.co.uk (i got my WRX wagon for 15500), but you don't get a tracker or a alarm fitted, so that puts you up around £19600. i know its kind of over your budget, but it will smell new mmm! and you'll know it ain't been thrashed...yet

obviously this chap has never owned an impreza before or any jap car id imagine so i dont think you guys should be telling him to buy a brand new sti and stretch the crap out his budget!! take your time and get a nice clean 02 or 03, theres really no need to buy a brand new one man, unless you is minted!

im a baaastard for over budgeting man, i always say for example, right i have 14k to spend, then i go and see something nice and oohh of course its 16k! so i just say ahh ****it and go and buy it!lol
ur better off if you have patience to just wait and buy a nice clean one for less money than u plan on spending if you can, because as we all know, once you get the car realisticly you will spend at least another 2K on mods ya know??

You can find insurers that don't need a tracker, and a Cat 1 alarm can be done for just over £200. So we are at £19200 for a delivery miles STI. I think you'll lose more on an overpriced 2-3 year old model when the next UK facelift comes out, whereas the £19.2k deal is competitive at present and I don't think these deals have had their full effect on the used market yet. Does <7% extra really make a difference? No hassle, no previous abuse, warranty, miles from the expensive services etc.

Listen to John, he talks sense. After all, he's scottish, and they're not known for spending money unnecessarily are they...

Liverpool Victoria don't ask about a tracker, this is the new model, how could you possibly go wrong?

Just looked on Autotrader and you're only saving £4K for something that is nearly out of warranty rather than something that is just beginning its warranty.

BTW, I'm English

If you are patient £16000 will buy a 2003 STI with PPP with less than 16K miles. This will have a years warranty left and will be (19200 + 2000 (PPP)) £5200 cheaper than the import. On the other hand it is always good to have one from new. You pays your money and takes your choice I suppose.

You missed this recently

I can't believe it didn't sell at that price.

Why not talk to Iain Litchfield about a trade-in?

There are well priced STI's about, just not locally as YET!, going to visit my local dealer and see what they have. But In order to get my full buget I need to sell my car first, so it could be weeks or dare I say it months!!, but I need a good price for it as it is worth it.

Cheers all for the messages, lots have e-mailed me with their cars for sale all so very very nice.

Regards
Darren
