Default Scooby virgin

Hi everybody

First post as picking up my first ever Subaru tomorrow.

Never had a car like this before. Given up my comfort blanket of company Vectra ( Whohooo!!), and bought my very own, new Impreza WRX wagon.(to carry the mutt around)

Wanted one for ages but never had the bollox to go out into the big wide world and run my own car.

Got my Insurance £416 from Barclays which I thought was pretty good since I have been a Company car driver for years.

As there will probably only be a tablespoonful of fuel in it when I pick it up, and it is only the bog standard WRX does it need superunleaded or will it run happily on Premium unleaded.

Local Q8 Garage selling premium unleaded for 96.9 but superunleaded is 105.9

Jees, I hope er indoors gets on with it as I was supposed to get a Honda Jazz!!

Good luck with your new car - Hate to say it but they recommend Super..... They will run on Normal but not quite as quick (assuming you didn't get the PPP) - Good luck in your first, gentle, 1000 miles

Hello mate and welcome to the world of scooby owners.

I've got a bugeye WRX without PPP and you can put normal unleaded in but I always put SUL in, I find the car feels much smoother and more responsive than when using 95RON.

I also prefer putting in Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate, I tend not to put in supermarket fuel unless I have to.

Don't worry about the cost of filling up though, at first you think "f**k me, I'm always in a petrol station".....but you soon get over it!!!
