would the speedo cable being disconected make the car stop at 4.5k revs and the check engine light come on ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????

 

yep, the car has gone into "limp" mode because of the lack of a 'speed' signal to the ECU.................

thanks mate ,,,i did a ecu check and the code come back 33 ,,iv looked and this is the speed sensor,,,,,,,,,,,thanks again

I had a speedo cable fail whilst up at donington doinb a track day.
Limp mode all the way back to east sussex.
