Fuel light question

Fuel light question
Standard MY01 WRX bugeye.
I'm driving along and my fuel level low warning light comes on. How many miles could I realistically do before I actually run out of petrol?
Thanks for any replies

Have also driven 30 miles with foot fairly hard down after fuel light came on - and arrived in petrol station on fumes.

Thanks Kend
Yes sorry, forgot to mention this is assuming I drive steady once the light has come on.
So once the light has come on, as long as I fill up within lets say 25 miles, I should be safe?

Get a gallon can, fill it up with an exact 5 litres and put it in the boot. You are now able to get the definitive answer for your car. Every car is a little different.
Originally, my car fuel light came on with 8 litres left in the tank. I adjuted the fuel pump pick up and can regularly run to a point where the fill is in excess of 57 litres.
Generally I would be surprised if you could not do 50mls of gentle driving from the fuel light coming on, assuming the pick up has not been adjusted.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I do actually ask for a reason. I'm quite new to scooby ownership having previously owned a Civic Type R. And from fuel light coming on to fuel light coming on I could do around 230-240 miles on 40 litres in the Type R.
Just wanting to find out how the scoob and CTR compare mpg wise but didn't want to run out of petrol in the process!
