BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear guidelines- help reqd
Guys, is anyone clued up on the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear guidelines?
My MY03 wagon has just gone back to the contract hire company, excellent condition (washed/waxed weekly, valeted monthly) save a small dent on the bootlid (it was a wagon) where I'd leaned on it, and a smallish scratch on the rear wing where someone had brushed against it.
I've had a quote from Bank of Scotland corporate with a quote of £350 plus vat (£175 for each prob) which they will invoice me for if they don't hear from me within 10 days.
I haven't spoken to them yet as I've only got the letter this evening- but I'm rather p*ssed off tbh. My mates Impreza was trashed when he sent it back and they didn't say a word, but this has been looked after properly.
They say it 'has been returned to us in a condition that is outside BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear guidelines' but I'm not quite sure what they are???
Can anyone help- I'd prefer advice from thos with specific advice relating to the BVRLA if poss, ideally from someone in the industry or with experience of same.
Thanks guys.
