Default WRC Lights for "Bugeye"

Hi All, (newbie here)

Looking for a bit of advice -

I'm going to take a 2002 Bugeye WRX out for a spin tomorrow, seems a nice car altho its dependant on the sale of my car (RX8)....

Couple of questions relating to the WRX -

I took out a WRX last year and it was a 2004 blobeye (this was before i bought the RX8) and i'm wondering what to expect in comparison to this, is the blobeye a lot quicker??

Also, i like the look of the bugeye WRX as its quite understated but i hate the front lights and would need to change them to the quad lights which i believe are called WRC, as such i was wondering where you can get them, how much they are and how easy to fit......... any tips appreciated.....

Thanks,
Chris.

I've got the bugeye and I'm happy with it, although it could do with losing a bit of weight. Get it remapped or PPP and I'm sure it'll fly......

The bugeye has 215bhp, the blobeye may have 225bhp (bt I'm not sure, I don't know when they upped the output?).

Hi Chris

The lights you are referring to are probably the 'Morrette' type.(quad lights) If you want the WRC car lookalikes, then look at www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk They are £468 a pair, and are almost identical to the bugeye WRC car. What you need to do ideally is spend some time on the internet and type in 'Subaru accessories or tuning' into a search engine like Google. Hope this helps.

The main options for a bugeye are morrette quad lights these are usually about £320 a pair, STI lights which are much nicer than the originals or in my opinion the best are the black UK300 lights which are a gloss black plastic surround with 3 small seperate light units, these cost about £600 from Subaru but can sometimes be found on e-bay for around £200.
This is my old one:

Hi Guys,

Yep i think i was confused and it should have been morette's i meant, like the STi ones as well but i know some change the wiring config which puts me off....

I took it out this morning and it was really nice, currently haggling on trade in prices so not 100% yet, as such i have a couple of follow up questoins now...

What wil this standard "bugeye" WRX do 0-60 in roughly?

How much will it be for the cambelt to be supplied and fitted by a "local" garage and not necessarily a scoob specialist?

Evo magazine tested it at 5.7 secs, so roughly 6 secs in normal conditions, average driver etc.

Budget £150 - £200, or about £220 at a Subaru dealer...
