badge on number plate
I fancy getting some new plates made up so that I don't drive round advertising the dealer who I bought the car from.
If I design them with the 'Subaru' emblem, or any other bar the GB, Euro etc one, on the left will this be illegal?
Cheers

BUT
going by some of the ridiculous plates you see going about today, I think you would have to be incredibly unlucky to be pulled for that!!
(I have the name and limited edition number of my car on mine!!)

Nick; this depends on the length of your registered number; if it has fewer characters than usual then it may be legal as a full sized plate isnt required (X1 XXX or 1 XXX etc, on a full sized plate would allow the logo to be inserted in the standard position as thisd be outside the area, of plate, required). Certainly that was how the law was written before but this may have been changed with the new regulations.

Another thing to consider is that if the car was registered before the new regulations came into force, then it (if the cars index number is shorter than standard, as described above) will still be perfectly legal. The only caveat is that a new registration plate must conform to the new regulations (if theyre different in this respect). This can be avoided by buying the plate from an off-shore supplier who wont be bothered about using the new font or recording the date of manufacture.....
