Default WRC330 or TSL333

Hi,

Had my Type UK Sti (not PPP) 04 for a couple of months and well impressed. Its my first scoobie and I love it, only snag is I would like more power and driveability. I am looking at the above conversions, i realise it will void warranty etc, but you only live once!!!

Which of the above do you think I should go for, or should I keep mine for 12 months whilst saving for a type25?

Probably should have done a little more research before buying current model and looked harder for more power to start with, but once you have that test drive!!!

Whats the verdict???

I run a TSL333 car and think its terrific, much faster and more driveable.

Sell it and buy a JDM Twin Scroll STi..... if your after more power, it is the better base to start with imho.

Since thats probably out of the question I suggest you get in contact with both companies and try to organise a test drive of each conversion. I suspect they would be very similar.

But from what I have read from others, the increases acheived over the PPP would not appear to be worth the outlay if you already have the PPP..... may be worth asking around or perhaps those people will post on this thread.

Regards,
Shaun.

you have already paid 2000 quid for the ppp at 305 bhp another 2600 for the tsl 333 which is not 100% sure to give you 333 seems a bit crazy to me

i thought the wrc330 and the 333 pack does NOT require the ppp to be fitted on the car first

I don't think the guy has paid for PPP yet, so as Webby says try them both and and decide for yourself.

crazylong, whatever you do don't try a Type 25 yet - nothing else will be any good once you've driven one

i drive tsl 333-much better than ppp more driveable less stuttery and more power, have not tried a wrc 330 but your best option would be to drive both t25 will just make you sad
there was a recent thread about someone who got a wrc ?350 on his sti -could be worth having a chat with him

Just to larify I do not have PPP, cant see the point if you can get around 330bhp for the same money!

It has been suggested get the geometry set up correctly at the same time, what do you think??

CrazyLong,
Getting the geometry set and also the front and rear anti roll bars with an anti-lift kit, will give you arguably a quicker car (ok not in power wise, but certainly what you can do with it).

Regards,
Shaun.

The car mentioned on SIDC is mine.

They do a before & after rr to give comparison figures.

I had a slight amended WRC package in between 330 & 350 as I already had a PPP car.

Before with PPP 294 bhp and after 341 bhp.

Works done were full 3" decat, cold air induction, dump valve, remap, anti-lift kit.

Good value & excellent service. The reason I disnt go down the 350 route was I will be adding futher mods to the car in future so didnt want to buy 2 intercoolers.

I hope this clarifies.

Hi,

I am leaning towards the wrc with cold air induction taking the car to 340bhp, does anyone have any advice on getting a keen insurance quote?

What difference did the anti lift kit make? I have recommended one of these but like to know what they do for the car before I buy. I'm not the usual buy on hype and yeah its great comment type person either.

Very pleased with anti-lift kit, stops the nose rising under power & therefore understeering. Needed with the extra power.

Just waiting to have rear arb fitted.

Had to change my insurance company locally with mods, shop around is my advise.
Alot of insurance companies are difficult with imprezas that are standard let alone modified versions.

Privelidge did a very good quote for me, but wanted to stay with local company.

So the anti lift kit only helps when powering your way out of a corner, it will not stop the car from understeering on the entry?

Also had 4wla done & have prodrive springs fitted.

If understeer on entry now, it means I am going to fast for the corner. But I can get lift off oversteer. Lots of fun.

if you have the PPP then to go for a 333 or something similar then all you should be paying is for a remap, this should be around the £600 mark including either doing it on a dyno or doing it with the car road rolling... any more and its a wast of $$$ simple...

Gutmann,
Reduces dive and lift under braking and acceleration.

I presume you've upgraded your ARB's and Drop Links?

Shaun.
