Erm, yes.

Same ****, different day. Infact, Scoobynet General is beginning to look like Groundhog Day.

Next week I predict:
Post in General Technical by mozzaITA entitled "New clutch! which one?"
Post in General entitled "Wasted an M3!"
Post in General entitled "Whats the fastest uve gone in scooby?"
Post in General Technical entitled "Knocking sound! is it me bigend?"
Post in General about how it now needs a new engine, and how he thought scoob engines were bullet proof.

On the other hand, API and Scoobyclinic must feel a warm, spreading glow; rather like letting go of one's urine into one's trousers - a pleasure usually denied us in adult life until the age of... oh... 77.

really..... didnt think they done it that quickly! im surprised, Have been unlucky this weekend not getting one, most of them get sold very quickly or are owned by traders who havnt got all the right answers to the questions i ask!.. Like just imported, no grade sheet, no service history, 'runs on normal fuel' etc..

the search continues...

Thanks neilo

An early WRX is about 240bhp, about the same as an RB5 WR. The RB5 (non-WR) has the same engine as any other '99 UK car, 218bhp.

What 0-60 that translates into depends largely on whether or not it's you that has to pay for the inevitable new clutch - so, basically, not many of us really care that much. Most Imprezas are quoted between about 5.0 and 6.5 seconds, depending on who's doing the testing.

What the car will do, is give you an enjoyable and satisfying drive. Go and try one out on a test drive and see what you think - just don't make a decision based on figures.

I test drove an evo5 & 6 an M3 and new age WRX but prefered the classic scooby, thats why i bought one. a work collegue of mine test drove similar cars and bought a GTfour. i dont like them, too small, but he did. so my advice is to test drive some cars that you are interested in then decide. just make sure you test them mid range as if you think about it this is the part of the curve you use most. think about consumption and servicing too. M3's are (more) expensive i believe.?

hope it helps somewhat.

I have a 93 WRX, and it's the only model I've never seen figures for - only the later 260 - 280 bhp versions

I agree, im not that interested in cooking up clutches to do full speed take-offs, more interesting in driving experiance, did have a rwd turbo car and didnt like it and would like a 4x4 now.

I havnt tryed one due to the fact that i havnt found one worthy of trying, most have either been sold or sounded like doggs!... will try one only if am serious about buying one, have wondered whether to save up a bit more and buy an sti? i guess it would be a totally different experiance or not? 240 bhp v 280.

Hope i dont bore people with this thread, i wouldnt ask if i knew what the answers are, im just trying to find out as much as possible about these cars before i go out and buy one.

thanks
