Default Have I fitted boost gauge correctly??!!

Just fitted Splitfire boost gauge to my MY01 WRX and took vacuum feed off pipe on dump valve. According to gauge I am getting 19 - 20 PSI with the help of a Dawes Device. Fuel cut off kicks in when giving it a bit in 4th and 5th gear. Turned boost down to 17 PSI by gauge and car feels sluggish. Have I connected it to right pipe and just how accurate are these gauges. What is safe max PSI I should be running?? P.S. car has Bailey dump valve fitted. not sure if it affects things.

I dont know, but maybe listing your mods may help people determine how much boost you should be displaying???
