Whilst it's perfectly feasable to fit it yourself I doubt the dealership would sell you the bits.

The fact that its dealer supplied and fitted is the one of the main reasons why it maintains the warranty.

Yes you could get the bits yourself from places such as ebay and here on scoobnet - see people selling the complete kit from time to time. Yes you could fit all the parts yourself. But as has been pointed out, it would not be warrented, hence not really worth it IMHO.

Forgot to say does not the price of PPP from dealer include fitting?

It certainly does, dealers are allowed 2 hours labour to fit the PPP.

so knowing the dealer labour prices, if you could buy it, that should knock at least £500 off the price

so if you did get it off ebay or the like and fitted it yourself how would the dealer know it was DIY job.

You could always get the equivelent: A professional remap, a fancy backbox and centre section decat. Which would give the same, if not better performance benefits than a ppp and would still cost much less than what the dealers charge

But that would then most certainly void the warranty.

Hold on, you'd still have to do an ECU exchange - and I can't see Subaru letting you have the new one without you giving them the old one first...

Seems to me that if you're the sort who wants to scrimp and save on fitting the PPP, you'd be better going for aftermarket mods instead.

The details are registered by Prodrive against the car and a certificate, with chassis number and reg number, is issued by the dealer to stay with the log book.

As mention as fitting is included in the price there is no point in buying the kit as new and fitting it yourself anyway.
