I thought all new Subaru's have a 3 year warranty with them. I was never asked if I wanted to upgrade, mind you I never thought to ask. Most cars come with 3 years.
Second hand come with 1 year warranty.

If you buy a euro import typically the warranty is 1yr, but usually with an option to increase provided you register it correctly
Not sure about Jap import though

Euro imports with 3 years pan european warranty too.
