ScoobyShop - your input please
#1
Hi All
Following the success of leaving the decisions to everybody (re stickers), we thought we'd do the same with the shop.
The development of this is well underway now and we hope it should be up and running within the nect few weeks (time permitting).
The general format will be as follows.
Companies can sign up for an account with ScoobyShop to sell their products. Once this is set up they can add products to the shop.
These products will be stored in a "New Products" section. This section can be accessed individually so you can see what's new.
As soon as someone buys this item, the product moves into the general area under a category (such as 'Brakes' or 'Fluids', etc.)
With each order, you receive a "Satisfaction Scoring Code". This allows you to mark the product out of ten in terms of quality and service.
Each product will then have an average score out of ten.
As well as browsing the poducts in the "New Section" and the General section under categories, you can view the "Star Products" (This will be a list of the top ten or so products in the quality and service markings).
We may also have a top ten list by category.
The prices of the products on sale should represent good value (no more than in the shops (unless shipping means it would be impossible - but then I guess we will all save on travelling / time / etc.)).
I hope I haven't missed anything major out...
The idea is to provide us all with an easy way to buy our scooby products (there will also be scobynet merchandise on sale - such as stickers, high quality key rings, etc.), and provide the companies that supply us with a less expensive way of reaching us. Credit card handling should be around 5%, and ScoobyNet will take 5% commision which we hope will cover the remainder of the costs of running the site and a bit extra for events / competitions, etc.
What do you think?
As many suggestions / comments as possible would be great!
Best regards
Webmaster

What about a 'Products Wanted' section where a buyer can post something like:
'Looking for a SWRT car sticker set'
and Vendors can respond with their wares?
Ok, it may be just a little too much like the wanted section here already, maybe cud also be used to encourage development of new products?
The only problem is abuse - it shouldn't be used as just another BBS section with wide roaming threads.
Cheers,
Chuck

Thanks for the comments so far chaps...
I was thinking also, this should tackle the issue we were discussing a while ago about small "start-up" businesses who would like to advertise their products on scoobynet but would not want to take out a banner ad.
It would be a nice way for these companies / individuals to supply their products?
Cheers

Sounds promising. Could the companies offer discounts to Scoobynet users? or even special offers exclusive to scoobynet users?
Hey, Puff may even get his strut brace that he's desperate for
