How much for a STi V?
#1
How much should I pay for a STi V with 2000 miles (W reg), 17" OZ wheels, Trackstar+Immobilser etc. Any budget idea would be great help as going to have a look at one in an hours time.
Cheers,
Gav

I personally wouldnt pay anymore than 18k for an sti v
A good friend of mine recently secured a very clean Sti V Type R with about 30k on clock for £16.5k loaded with extras.
I think 23k is a bit keen.

Wouldn't buy a type R anyway - the 4 door is far superior!
4 doors!
gearbox synchro's that dont destroy themselves
No ABS!
Less top end speed and a pretty useless 1st gear due to stupid gear ratio's
I'm sure theres other differences
Saying that £16.5k was a reasonable price
If I had bought a brand new sti5 Type R (ordered the back end of 1998) I could have got it for about £20-21k
so I guess they have not suffered that much depreciation
For all those that paid at the top end - i.e over £25k (and some were paying £31k) more fool them - but then they did get a warranty and after sales service - yeah right!
Wait a while you should be able to pick up an sti6 for about £20k (max) once the new models have flooded Japan

Steve,
I agree, the 4 doors are much better. But I only gave an example to a type r becuase they are generally more expensive, which means he should pay even less for a 4 door.

Cheers all for your input.
PTMW-I think yellow is a bit bright-trying to not to be a target for local police and their radar!
Steve + Blow Dog- Agree with your comments and will keep looking for a 4 door- preferably in blue. No rush to buy so should be able to get a good price somewhere.

AFAIK there aren't any STi 4 doors in that nice blue colour.
However you can get a Type RA V-limited - that is four door, has really groovy seats and is bright blue.
They are also cheap - if a little well specced. A brand new one was £21k at Park Lane in the spring.

Is the following one advertised on the Warrender Site a printing error then? There is a picture of it but no mention that it is a type R. Will try and phone them on Monday.
99 S IMPREZA WRX STi, 4dr, V-Ltd, sonic blue, 7000 miles only £20750

Yes Blow dog you are correct - you can get a 4 door in blue as an sti4 - dont like the colour personally and they have much less features
Of course there were people who got this colour as a V Limited, with all the goodies as an sti 3 - but they have a naf bonnet and a dodgy ECU system!
I have seen an sti 5 in Sonic Blue - like the 22b but better - so it must be possible to get colours other than in the Jap catalogs
Then again I would not change my bog standard grey sti 5 (and would not swap for a P1 either!)

Oops perhaps I meant a different blue as the RA one I saw - an sti5 (not an sti4 as I think I said - another lie) looked awful
Be careful of the cars with the electric dash - they are very easy indeed to clock - so I would not buy one second hand

Slightly confused by all the different references to the STi versions, in Sonic. If it helps, I have the 4 door Type RA V.Limited in Sonic, and it's a version 5, and whatever one thinks, I love it !
Hope this doesn't confuse the issue !!

GavM,
I know the Warrender boys and at the moment they are flooded with vehicles so a bargain is there to be had if your ready to go...ask for steve...oh by the way yellow is a brill colour and who'd want to nick it, people are scared of coming close to you for fear of a bump, scrape etc..no-one parks close coz they're scared of hitting the car, the police just smile realising that all must be in order if your prepared to drive such a loud vehicle an no-one has a go at you coz it looks wilder and angrier than any other colour I've seen.. ( my opinion only guys ), seriously though I have had a firm offer on one of the cars and the supra owner is coming to Trax to view it, he's never had or ridden in a scoob before...check it out

Glad we've cleared that one up then...
So can you get a standard STI, 4 door, in Sonic - I am not convinced. I believe that they are all WRX RA V Limiteds.
Could be wrong again tho' But I ain't never seen a standard Sti in Sonic...
