Robert,

My brother says he has seen some nice stuff in B&Q (new Wallsend store on the coast road), aluminium with hexagonal holes in black or silver. Says it should be light enough not to need too much securing. I was thinking of having a trip across at the weekend to get some to protect the radiator.

Do you need to remove the bumper or can you not slide it down from above (or up from below) and then fix it in position?

I have found an easy way to remove the bumper...

Drive along a country lane at 8am on a sunny Sunday morning.

Have a drunk driver, who had been to an illeagel all night rave, loose control on a bend and smash into the front of you, causing £9000 worth of damage.

Have the AA transport your car to a repair shop.

Wait until the repair shop have done a partial stripdown.

...and there you have it, job done, bumper removed !
