Hi all,i have a my01 wrx and was wondering what advantage changing the up pipe would give me,as i understand it the standard one contains a cat and was thinking of replacing with one without.

Biggest difference is much improved spool up of turbo I.e. quicker to get on boost.

with downpipe fitted at same time probably the most effective single mod.

H&S do a good slip jointed one @ Xtreme Scoobies.

Do it - you know it makes sense.

There are "reports" of the cat falling apart in the up-pipe of modded Bugeye's and trashing the turbo due to the increased temps !!

I changed mine when I started re-mapping the OEM ECU
