Default No longer a flame virgin

The Scoob has finally started popping out a few flames

However there was a report in the newspaper the other day how a 23 year old was given a £60 fine and 3 points on his license being spotted with flames coming out of his exhaust

A big beware to anyone popping flames out

Think you are OK if you do not have a flamer kit. Think about it, AC cobras/Ferrari F40's (and many other high powered cars) spit flames when they come out of the factory.
I believe it is only an offence when deemed dangerous to others, driving at 70mph and having a flame lick out of the exhaust is hardly a danger is it? Sitting in a car park, revving th etits off your engine to get a flame could probably be construed as a danger!

Also, I believe having a flamer kit fitted is illegal anyways, as you have modified the exhaust construction (which under regs is illegal)

Agreed, followed a XR3I convertable smouldering his rear bumper away. His new pebble dash rear bumper looks the part!!!

Little bit of pop and bang doesnt hurt.

What toys did you put on to get that?

My exhaust is now a fully decatted Blitz with a VTA dump valve. Some nice big pops and a few flames.

Flames from a flamer kit are nothing like what i was getting on a full decat with vta, more of a flash of light than the 3 foot flames that i have seen coming out of the back of the maxflower brigade ...............

But how do you know if you've got flames when you're driving? Obviously with a flamer kit you cant really miss them out of your rear view, but those little naturally obtained cones can only be seen by those behind you cant they Or are they fairly obvious when its dark?

I've got the pops and bangs, but have no idea about the flames

They make a different kind of noise all of there own! Only way to be 100% though is to get someone to drive your car while you follow behind!
