Thought I'd start a new thread for this.

I lived in Allerton for 8 years in Robinson Street near the "boat"end. I have a mate who lives at the end of Astley lane (Swillington end) so have seen you pass quite a lot whilst outside his house. I moved 2.5 years ago to bigger house and a garage, but still go to fill up at Castleford via bikers bar, A1, Chequers & Fairburn. Usually costs me a tenner just for the priviledge, but great roads.

Sorry to say it, but even though I lived so close, never went to Davitts. Heard that they are good nights though. (probably from my living room)
I think you passed me once when I was going over the new road on the ol push bike too.

FFS... I can't believe that you never went in.... Always top nights, and a shame that you've moved out of the village. I suppose that means I'm the only gay, now.

Still pass through on a regular basis so will watch out from now on.
Great place to live, I loved every minuite I was there, but the lure of a garden & a garage was too much. It was really quiet down near the end too, except for when po boys in town... Daz

 

It's a cracking place. EXTREMELY low crime, and good schools. I've left the band though, unfortunately.
