Unhappy Help needed ASAP. Car won't rev over 4000rpm

Just coming home in my scoobie and I put my foot down. The car got to 4000rpm and then the power cut out and the engine light came on. It feels like the car is been starved of fuel.

I am running a RB5 with a Tek3 and Sti Fuel pump.

Help needed ASAP

A person I know had a simular Problem, but may not be yours

You can run 2 totally different maps in your ECU but "They" only normally program the one. You are able to switch/toggle between the 2 Maps on his car it was push throttle to Floor and at same time push rear window heater on IIRC. One map may just have some base settings in it. BTW different MYear's ECU maybe set up differently.

Hope this may help

ECU in safe mode. Once you get to 4,000rpm your head hits the winderscreen.
Connect the 2 black connectors under the steering column, turn the ignition on and read out the fault code. the Check engine Light will flash i.e 3 slow and 2 fast....3 slow and 2 fast.....this would be code 32.
This will tell you whats wrong.....

Post the error code back on here if you don;t know what it relates too.

P.S The RB5 won't have duel maps. This only applies to MY01>

This happened to my MY00... it was the gearbox sensor, replaced under warranty.

you don't need to take it to the dealer yet, first find out whats wrong (the dealer may charge you best part of 20 bucks for 5 minutes work). once you know whats wrong you can then decide if you can fix it yourself or get the dealer involved.

this is the site with the full instrctions and error codes
