Its the short motor is change with a US STI 2.5 block.

Power depends on supporting mods.

You can normally get a safe 300-350bhp, with torque being roughly the same.

So I heard! Could be wrong

You can get a "Safe" 300-350 with a 2ltr. the 2.5 will get a safe 400/400.

the min for 300?? it is easy for an STI you just need a decat and a remap, That will get you 300+ for a uk wrx it takes a bit more effort. New Turbo like a td-05, Sti Intercooler, Remap + more. Look in Projects for a full report.
I cant say for the 2.5. it is worth doing a search there is lots of info about.

Power level depends mainly on breathing (inlet, exhaust and turbo mainly) and torque on UK 5 speed gearbox integrity well before it breaks the engines. Capacity makes it easy to produce torque, and lots of it low down, not really a significant power adder.
